Catalyst Therapy

Catalyst Therapy is a Community Practice offering Clinical Social Work to Individuals, Families, The Community, and Health Care Professionals. The foundation of all that we do at Catalyst is Relationally Based. Meaning that the therapeutic relationship between the Therapist, Client, and Community is the core of our practice. This relational experience significantly enhances evidence-informed treatment interventions (CBT, DBT, ACT, EFT) and improves outcomes in Psychotherapy and treatment.

The “ We” of Catalyst Therapy extends beyond Clinical Social Worker and Psychotherapist, Lisa Azzopardi. It includes the collective of private psychotherapists, community organizations, local businesses,  schools,  and community stakeholders. These partnerships are what make up Catalyst, and are what allow for:  Improved Mental Health Services, Education & Intervention, Community Program Development, Research Projects, and Professional Development amongst mental health professionals.

Lisa has been practicing in the field of Child, Adolescent and Family Mental Health for 15 years. She has a Diploma in Child and Youth Work ( Humber College), an Undergraduate Degree in Child and Youth Care ( Ryerson University) and a Masters Degree in Social Work ( Wilfrid Laurier University). She has practiced in a wide range of intensive treatment programs across Canada and has developed and implemented programs which have had a significant impact on the landscape on Children’s Mental Health across Ontario. Lisa has received training in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy ( Linehan Institute & CAMH), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and Narrative Therapy. She provides Clinical Supervision to Professionals and MSW Students ( University of Toronto, University of Waterloo and Smith College School of Social Work) and facilitates workshops and trainings for Parents and Professionals on Child & Adolescent Mental Health.
